Yoiyami (宵闇) means the darkness of early evening - the liminal minutes after sunset when the sky is neither day nor night, and foxes are said to appear. This full fox mask captures that threshold moment: deep, atmospheric, quietly unsettling.

About Habutae-bari
Habutae-bari is an advanced papercraft technique: 12 layers laminated with rice paste only, with no base paint coating applied. The result comes out at roughly half the weight of the standard version of the same design — in the region of 100–110g against 200–260g — and retains a warm, natural surface texture. Because no base coating is applied, habutae-bari masks are more delicate than standard versions.
How to Wear
Place the lower edge of the mask on your chin so that your chin line just slightly peeks out beneath it. This creates the most beautiful side profile and keeps the mask stable during wear.
Care & Storage
- Avoid direct sunlight and high-temperature environments.
- If the mask gets wet, gently blot with a dry cloth and air-dry in the shade. Do not rub.
- Habutae-bari has no base coating and is more sensitive to moisture than standard masks. Handle with care.
Ordering & Shipping
Authorized Komendo retailer — officially sourced from the maker, never resale. As an authorized retailer, we order your mask directly from Komendo. We place orders with the maker once a week, and your mask usually ships from our Tokyo shop within 1–2 weeks, followed by international shipping. In the rare case the maker has no stock available, we will cancel your order and issue a full refund in our weekend processing. Orders with multiple items ship together once everything is ready.
