Press & Media

KAMENYA OMOTE is Japan's only mask specialty store. Our project "That Face" — hyper-realistic masks made from the faces of real, anonymous people — has been covered by news media around the world.

Selected coverage

Our work has also been featured by the BBC, the South China Morning Post, and numerous Japanese television programs and publications.

About the shop

KAMENYA OMOTE sells one-of-a-kind masks by contemporary Japanese artists, traditional kitsune (fox) masks as an authorized Komendo retailer, Noh-style pieces, and paper craft mask kits, and organizes TOKYO MASK FESTIVAL, Japan's largest mask exhibition. The physical shop is open weekends 13:00–18:00 in Kyojima, Sumida, Tokyo. We ship worldwide via this online store.
