“Anokao” — That Face — is an art project that reproduces the faces of real people. Each mask is created from the likeness of an actual individual and produced specifically for each order. In a sense, this mask embraces inconvenience: the unusual sensation of wearing another person’s face.
That Face is a hyper-realistic human face mask: a wearable portrait made from a 3D scan and photographs of a real person, reproduced with a hybrid of 3D and 2D printing that captures skin texture down to the fine capillaries of the eyes. The same reproduction technology is used by leading companies and research institutions to test facial-recognition systems. Every mask is made to order and ships worldwide from Tokyo.

Questions
Are these masks silicone?
No. That Face is printed on a rigid shell rather than molded in silicone. The realism comes from print resolution — skin texture, tone, and eye detail — not from flexible material, so the mask does not move with your face.
Whose faces are these?
Real people. Every face in this collection is reproduced with the consent of the actual person. We do not make a mask of anyone — celebrities included — without their own permission.
Can I order a mask of my own face?
