A black half-fox mask adorned with red, gold, and pale blue - vivid colors that sing against the dark ground. Kuro (黒) means black. Where white fox masks evoke purity and divine protection, the black fox carries something more dangerous, more seductive. Mouth open - comfortable for extended wear, speaking, and singing.

About Habutae-bari
Habutae-bari is an advanced papercraft technique: 12 layers laminated with rice paste only, with no base paint coating applied. The result comes out at roughly half the weight of the standard version of the same design — in the region of 100–110g against 200–260g — and retains a warm, natural surface texture. Because no base coating is applied, habutae-bari masks are more delicate than standard versions.
Care & Storage

- If the mask gets wet, gently blot with a dry cloth and air-dry in the shade. Do not rub.
- Habutae-bari has no base coating and is more sensitive to moisture than standard masks. Handle with care.
Ordering & Shipping
Authorized Komendo retailer — officially sourced from the maker, never resale. As an authorized retailer, we order your mask directly from Komendo. We place orders with the maker once a week, and your mask usually ships from our Tokyo shop within 1–2 weeks, followed by international shipping. In the rare case the maker has no stock available, we will cancel your order and issue a full refund in our weekend processing. Orders with multiple items ship together once everything is ready.
